General Information

Transfer Credit is an approval process where courses completed from prior institutions of higher education may be used to fill a prerequisite or be used to meet a general education requirement. It is not necessary to petition a transfer course that has been previously petitioned. Approved courses from Oklahoma institutions that have recently been reviewed and approved by the University of Oklahoma can be viewed at http://www.ou.edu/admrec/tetables.htm.

Whether approved or denied, the petitioner will be notified, and the decision made on the course will be distributed to the appropriate personnel on both campuses. With the exception of general educations courses, transfer courses may substitute for required courses. Courses that do not have an OU equivalent will transfer as elective credit. The degree-recommending college will determine how each course will apply toward an OUHSC degree. For a list of OU approved general education courses visit the website at http://www.ou.edu/admrec/tetables.htm.
