The Positive Aging Institute is designed for professionals who provide health, behavioral health, and/or social services to older adults and who are interested in enhancing their knowledge base about what it means to age physically, cognitively, psychologically, and socially. The Institute does not focus on any one specific issue related to aging, but instead provides a comprehensive overview of factors that are critical for providers to know when working with, or on the behalf of, older adults. Throughout the day myths about aging, which can lead to inaccurate or inappropriate assessment, intervention, treatment, and ultimately poor outcomes, are replaced with fact. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn about several community initiatives that promote positive aging.

This is an inter-professional Institute designed for adult day administrators, case managers, counselors, home health care and hospice administrators, nurses, nursing home administrators and assistant certified administrators, peer support specialists, residential care/residential care and assisted living administrators, therapists, and social workers.
