Description

A series of two virtual interprofessional educational sessions will engage over 1200 students from 27 degree programs across the Health Sciences Center, OU Tulsa, and OU Norman campus. Students will engage in education related to the IPEC competencies of: roles and responsibilities, values and ethics, teams and teamwork, and communication. Students will be assigned to an interprofessional student team and will participate in a variety of learning activities under the guidance of a trained faculty facilitator.

An introductory online course has been added in Canvas. This course will offer asynchronous access to introduce the concepts of interprofessional education prior to, or in addition to, attending All Professions Day.

Student Feedback

"It was fun and I learned a lot about the other fields."

"It was a great experience. I enjoyed learning different roles that other professionals play in our daily lives."

"Really inspiring hearing from other professions!"

"Had a great time participating in APD and love that our campus encourages events like this."

"I enjoyed meeting students from all different medical professions. The conference was well planned and organized. My faculty member did a wonderful job at facilitating conversation and making us feel welcome. I appreciated this opportunity to really see how important each profession is in treating the overall heath of an individual."

"I had a very enjoyable experience. It was interesting to meet students from other colleges, something I feel like we often don't do on a regular basis otherwise. It was also interesting to hear a variety of opinions on the case presented, and also share how my profession could contribute to the care of the patient."

"I liked the fast pace of all the activities. It kept everyone engaged and interested."

"Truly enjoyed engaging and listening to the other professions at my table. We tend to get so locked into our own school that we don't branch out unless forced."

"I enjoyed this event. I think it is so essential to keep this opportunity for students alive. I have learned so much from this event, and I think it is so important to create a foundation of mutual respect with other professions before we begin our careers. This will help us later on in life to already have this foundation and facilitate our team based mindset for future encounters with others."

"Great opportunity to meet people from other professions and to learn about their scope of practice!"
