Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)

Canvas is the main learning management system for the University of Oklahoma programs. It is a robust online platform used by colleges and universities to manage courses and facilitate digital learning. It allows students to access course materials, submit assignments, participate in discussions, and track their progress. Canvas provides an intuitive experience for students, making it easy to navigate and engage with course content.

All teaching faculty, most academic support staff, and all enrolled students can access it at canvas.ou.edu logging in with your OU credentials.

For support with Canvas tools, log into Canvas and select HELP from the left-hand global navigation and you can opt to chat with, report a problem (ask a question), call the support hotline, request a consultation, and view upcoming training offerings from IT Learning Spaces.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is an advanced online survey tool that provides the ability to create, distribute, and analyze surveys. The platform is designed to be easy to use but also includes robust features for more advanced users, including logic and branching, experimental design, statistical analysis, and report generation.

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center has a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (BAA) in place, which ensures the protection of health records and other sensitive information. In addition, Qualtrics can be used to collect FERPA-protected information in compliance with the existing FERPA policy. Respondus

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser student’s install that locks down the testing environment to help prevent cheating during exams and integrates seamlessly within the Canvas quizzes.  Students may download Respondus LockDown browser from inside Canvas Help once they login. Respondus Monitor is a fully-automated proctoring solution that is used in conjunction with LockDown Browser. Students use a webcam to record themselves during an online exam. Afterward, flagged events and proctoring results are available to the instructor for further review.

Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Camvas. Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, or moved between different learning systems. NOTE: This only works on Windows operating system.  

Turnitin Originality

Turnitin is an originality checking and plagiarism prevention service that checks your writing for citation mistakes or inappropriate copying. This tool is integrated within Canvas to be used in submission assignments.  Turnitin is not to be used for professional papers, journal articles, etc.  It is only for course related submissions to be used inside Canvas.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an award-winning industry leader in online training, with a digital library of over 13,000 courses covering a wide range of technical, business, software, and creative topics. It offers dynamic video tutorials on functional skills such as Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and more, as well as soft skills like Communication, Career Prep, Collaboration, Time Management, and Presentation skills.
