HSC Faculty and Staff in Educational Programs –
Please see the message of thanks and accompanying video below sent from President Harroz on Friday.
As we have been preparing over the past two months and as President Harroz states, it is important for the campuses to remain flexible during this time and to understand that guidance and decisions will continue to be subject to change. While HSC educational programs in Oklahoma City and Tulsa generally proceeded last week with current class formats, we have been preparing for change. As I described in the email Friday afternoon regarding HSC educational programs, faculty and staff on both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa campuses are preparing for adapted course formats or temporary modifications in order to respond to the changing COVID‐19 situation. Our students are receiving information from their colleges via email regarding when the use of online resources for large or small learning groups, simulation‐based learning, or laboratory‐based instruction will be implemented, as well as any modifications of clinical and community‐based instruction. Soon we will make OUHSC “Learn Anywhere” and “Teach Anywhere” resources available to students, faculty, and staff. We understand that online formats and resources may not work in every type of learning environment in our HSC programs for health professionals and graduate researchers, but we are dedicated to providing options such as these that can help mitigate potential risk related to COVID‐19 to our campus community.
