Answer and Discussion: The answer is (B). Anton–Babinski syndrome, also known as Anton syndrome in short, are resulted from cortical blindness. The etiology can varies from infarction, injury, and other causes the lead to damage of the primary visual cortex of bilateral occipital lobes. The patient are cortically blind but despite clear evidence of their blindness, they would affirm other people that the are capable of seeing. This is a form of visual anosagnosia (a lack of self awareness on an impairment, physical or mental, caused by damage to the brain). Their brain is unable to recognize their blindness. When being asked on what they are seeing, these may will provide a confident description on what they see which is a confabulation.
