Fellowship-Trained Breast Cancer Surgeon Joins the Stephenson Cancer Center

Juan C. Claros, M.D., a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, has established his medical practice with the Stephenson Cancer Center at OU Medicine. He is also an assistant professor of surgery with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. As a surgical oncologist specialized in breast cancer, Claros treats all types and stages of breast cancer.

Claros completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock. He completed his general surgery residency at the OU College of Medicine and earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College, Nashville. At the Stephenson Cancer Center, Claros works with a multidisciplinary team of breast experts, including breast medical oncologists, radiation oncologists specialized in breast cancer, plastic surgeons and supportive care specialists.

The Breast Oncology Program at the Stephenson Cancer Center offers patients the most comprehensive treatment opportunities in the state, including advanced breast radiation therapy options and access to the most breast cancer clinical trials in the state. Claros is board certified by the American board of Surgery, he is a member of the Oklahoma Society of Clinical Oncology, the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American College of Surgeons.
