Professional Practice Gap: 1. Medical educators were born into a generation different from their learners and often do not consider generational difference s w hen teaching or developing curricula. 2. Due to their personal unconscious biases, medical educators may inappropriately view future generations negatively.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:
1. Discuss the difference in background experiences, viewpoints, and professional and personal goals and expectations that defin e M illennials and Generation Z.
2. Describe the challenges and rewards involved with educating the next generation of neurologists.
3. Discuss novel approaches to feedback, mentoring, teaching, learning, and work life balance that aid in meeting the educational n eeds of our Millennials and Gen Z
trainees.
4. Describe how the next generation of trainees is changing the culture of medicine and how medicine is practiced.
