David Bard, PhD
BBMC Director
David Bard, Professor of Pediatrics and is the BBMC Director. He received his BA from Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS and his MS and PhD in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. In addition to his BBMC directorship, he also is principal investigator for a number of pediatric research studies and serves as the Chief Research Information Officer for the University. He also holds the Walmart and Sam’s Club Endowed Research Chair for the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Bard's areas of expertise include quantitative statistical analysis and methodology, pediatric epidemiology, child maltreatment prevention, judgment and decision making, and programs evaluation. He is a founder of the REDCap Governance Body, and his team has contributed to the development of REDCapR, a package of utilities integrating REDCap with R statistical computing software.

Director of Informatics
Will Beasley is a Professor of Pediatrics and leads the Clinical Research Data Warehouse. He received his PhD in quantitative psychology from University of Oklahoma. In addition to his role in BBMC and the CRDW, he provides statistical analysis and software development to research studies at OUHSC.
Dr. Beasley's areas of expertise and interest include Bayesian and Frequentist statistics, bioinformatics, simulation methods, and exploratory and graphical analysis, and reproducible research. He also has a wealth of software programming experience including SQL Server, C#, and R.

Biostatistician
Michael Anderson is an Assistant Professor at OU College of Public Health Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. He received his BA in statistics from Utah State University and his MS and PhD in statistics from Kansas State University and became a member of OUHSC faculty in 2009.
Dr. Anderson's areas of expertise and interest include Bayesian classification of high dimensional data, statistical genomics, Bayesian statistical analysis, bioinformatics, statistical computing, non-parametric, mixed models, and statistical education. He currently teaches several courses in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and works on statistical analysis for research for a number of research studies.

Biostatistician
Christopher Aston is an Associate Research Professor of Pediatrics, Adjunct Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and Faculty Biostatistician on the Oklahoma Shared Clinical and Translational Resources (OSCTR) project. Dr. Aston's areas of expertise and interest focuses mostly on the genetic epidemiology of diabetes and obesity and their sequelae, of disorders of urology and sex development, and of cardio-vascular disease. But he will have a go at anything that walks in the door: surveys, clinical trials, results from wet-bench experiments, or genomics: Anethesiology to Urology: cats, rats, humans or salamanders. He has experience with developing REDCap databases. He teaches the Human Population Genetics course for the Masters in Genetic Counseling Program. He has a Morton number = 1.

Sixia Chen is an Assistant Professor Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Sixia Chen is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Dr. Chen's research interests include survey sampling, missing data problems, empirical likelihood, data integration, semi-parametric modeling, and small area estimation. Dr. Chen is currently also a member of the Oklahoma Shared Clinical and Translational Resources (OSCTR) project and he is faculty member of Stephenson cancer center BioStat core. Dr. Chen also holds survey methodologist position for OUHSC sooner survey center and consultant position for Tribal Epidemiology Center at Southern Plains Tribal Health Board.

Lise DeShea is a senior research biostatistician who has worked on the OUHSC campus for more than 10 years, following her employment with OHCA as a statistician analyzing claims data in Quality Assurance. She has authored 3 statistics textbooks, has years of teaching experience, and expertise related to manuscript writing and presentation development. Lise joined the CDW team in July 2020.

Kaitlin Owen is a Research Technician for the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN) at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC). She volunteered and worked with the OUHSC Child Trauma Services Program for 3 years prior to joining OUHSC CCAN in July 2019. She served an administrative capacity for the BBMC Team preceding her transition to full time data collection for quantitative and qualitative research projects focused on secondary and tertiary prevention of child maltreatment.

Research Analyst
Maleeha Shahid is a Research Biostatistician at OUHSC. She received her MPH from OUHSC College of Public Health and her MB, BS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from Sindh Medical College – University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan. Ms. Shahid is currently working on her MS in Human Resources. She has taken her United States Medical Licensing Exams and is ECFMG Certified. She is also a LEND fellow. She works on multiple research studies for OUHSC's Sooner SUCCESS. She is experienced in study design, development of research instruments, collection, management and analysis of data, interpretation of results, and preparation of reports. She is also gaining familiarity with qualitative methodology and network analysis.
