LaKisha Cobb, BS

Family Support Coordinator, Oklahoma Family Support 360° Center

What is your role with the CLL | UCEDD?

Family Support Coordinator for the Family Support 360 Program. We provide direct one-on-one care coordination support to families that have children with special health care needs or disabilities.

Why did you decide to work in the field of Disability?

I have a daughter with cerebral palsy who inspired me to get involved with advocacy and I want others to know that there’s hope, support, and resources to care for their family members with special health care needs.

How does your perspective inform your work?

Not only do I serve families that have children with special needs or disabilities, but I have also lived experience where I can share valuable insight and information.

When you are not working, how do you relax and practice self-care?

I usually like to take a short road trip or vacation, when possible, if not then usually a night out with friends.

What is a motto or saying that motivates or inspires you?

Never ruin a good day by thinking about a bad yesterday!
