Erica Herrera, BA
Family Support Coordinator, Oklahoma Family Support 360° Center
Erica Herrera (she/her) has worked with the Hispanic community for the past 21 years. She has spent 13 years working with Hispanic families who are raising children with developmental disabilities. Her career as a professional advocate began shortly after her daughter Vanessa was born with developmental disabilities and she was encouraged by her daughter’s pediatrician to apply for a job as a Family Coordinator for the Family Support 360° Center, a project of national significance funded through the US Administration on Developmental Disabilities. She continues to work directly with families as the Lead Family Coordinator for the Center. As a part of the Hispanic community she saw systematic disparities with health care services and as social services. For this reason, she started to serve in state and regional agencies to bring the voices of Hispanic/Latino individuals with developmental disabilities and their families into policy discussions. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in with a degree in Spanish Language.
