Website Editor

What is your role with the CLL | UCEDD?

I work as the CLL | UCEDD Website Editor making sure our website is up to date and accessible with information and resources developed by the CLL | UCEDD Staff to support our community.

Why did you decide to work in the field of Disability?

It wasn’t a conscious choice, but something I happened into as I was invited to assist with the CLL | UCEDD through my work in another role on campus. Since joining the team, I’ve learned so much about disability and disability advocacy from the other staff members! Their work and experiences have inspired a passion for digital accessibility in my career.

How does your perspective inform your work?

My primary role on campus is with the Office of Interdisciplinary Programs, so I come from the lens of interprofessional education where everyone (patient, family, health care providers) are all part of the same team. This informs my work in prioritizing that our website is accessible to all folks of all backgrounds.

When you are not working, how do you relax and practice self-care?

I’m a firm believer that a cup of tea and a cookie (preferably homemade) can solve most problems and if that doesn’t work, adding some snuggles with my two dogs can usually do the trick! I also love engaging with nature so time in my garden, going on a hike, or just walking the dog park is always good for my soul.

What is a motto or saying that motivates or inspires you?

“Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” -Mr. Rogers
