Oklahoma LEND is an interdisciplinary leadership education program funded by the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau in the US Health Resources and Services Administration. OKLEND
prepares individuals from a wide variety of disciplines for leadership and
advocacy roles, promoting high quality services and improved systems to support
children and youth with developmental disabilities and their families.
Long-term OKLEND interns receive 300+ hours of interdisciplinary learning experiences beyond academic degree requirements based on four core principles of: 1) Person/Family-Centered Services; 2) Cultural Competence; 3) Interdisciplinary Teaming/Collaboration; and 4) Inclusive Community-Based Practices.
