The Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work, College of Dentistry, Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, and College of Medicine have been awarded a three-year grant totaling $932,357 from SAMSHA to provide interprofessional training in Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). SBIRT is an evidenced-based practice for screening patients for alcohol misuse and addiction, providing brief in-office interventions, and referring those with serious problems to needed treatment.
